Put a picture that is original, yours, and spread it trough the IM network. If the image is successful, you will get a lot of back links and traffic. This is what we want.

For a serious website funny pictures will not work, but there are other virus ideas that may be used in the news section of the site or in the main database. For example – the leading Bulgarian website for second hand cars – mobile.bg – has published an offer for a donkey.

One donkey power, gray color, leather seats, convertible, with manual transmission, four driving wheels – 1000 Euro.

A friend of mine took the next shot five years ago and spread it through the ICQ network successfully.

You don’t need to be an expert photographer to make this trick work. Taking unique shots and making montages can sometimes be difficult. Some of the top 500 blogs use pictures and jokes found in the internet (most likely without the permission of their original owner). If you don’t want to steal such material you can take pictures of your cat and use them to make your site more popular, entertaining, and enjoyable.

This method is based on luck, and is sort of spammish. You are not the one making spam but your satisfied visitors will be if they find your picture amusing enough.

Image #1 is a montage by me, at image #2 i am behind the picture, and at image you can see my cat and my hand.

You mean Eli wrote about the same idea? I will be glad to read her/him article about the same thing.

Great post and great blog. I have to admit I am light on any knowledge of picture and video optimization techniques. I will have to brush up.
